Bloom Psychology Practice

Maybe you and your partner find yourselves stuck in the same arguments — small issues that escalate, or conversations that end with both of you feeling frustrated and misunderstood. Perhaps you long for more connection, trust, or ease in the way you communicate, but every attempt seems to spiral into tension. You might be asking yourself: Why do we keep repeating this cycle? How do we talk without it turning into conflict? Can we find a way back to feeling close again?

Brené Brown

“When we share our stories, we give others permission to share theirs too.”

How the Program Works

Group counselling may not be suitable if:

  • There are active issues of domestic violence or abuse
  • One or both partners are struggling with untreated addiction
  • Safety or privacy concerns would limit your participation
  • The relationship is in crisis following recent betrayal or trauma
Group counselling suits couples who want to:

  • Learn and practice evidence-based strategies
  • Improve communication and resolve recurring conflicts
  • Strengthen trust and intimacy
  • Gain perspective by learning alongside others
  • Build healthier habits in a supportive environment
In group counselling, we explore topics such as:

  • Finding better ways to communicate and adapt during life changes
  • Managing different expectations, values, or priorities in the relationship
  • Handling disagreements and learning healthier ways to resolve conflict
  • Strengthening emotional and physical intimacy
  • Rebuilding trust when it’s been shaken
  • Understanding and supporting neurodiverse needs within the relationship
  • Recognising and addressing unmet needs between partners
  • Parenting stresses, including challenges in blended families
  • Working together through financial pressures
  • Coping with the impact of trauma, mental health, or substance use
  • Preventing unhealthy or harmful dynamics from taking hold
  • Rekindling connection when things feel flat or distant
Group couples counselling offers a safe, supportive space where you and your partner can learn alongside other couples who are facing similar struggles. It’s not about airing every detail of your private life, but about discovering practical tools, practicing new communication techniques, and building stronger habits together. By seeing that you’re not alone, you gain fresh perspectives, encouragement, and skills that can bring you closer as a couple.
